Tuition and Fees Acknowledgement for The Ballard Academy of Music and Dance (the “Academy”)
Tuition must be paid by automatic bank account debit or automatic credit card payment. No cash or checks accepted. Due upon registration is 1st month’s tuition, a one month tuition deposit and a $35 annual administrative fee. This modest fee helps defray the substantial office/administrative costs, insurance, and other non-teaching costs. These charges- 1st month’s tuition, $35 administrative fee and deposit tuition are non-refundable. Tuition deposit will be applied to June, or last month’s tuition in case of early withdrawal. You do not have a long-term contract with the Academy, commitment is only two months at a time (current or 1st month’s tuition and deposit month tuition). Tuition is debited on the 1st day of each month for the duration agreed upon during registration.
Verbal and Email consent of future registration changes: By signing this document you agree that verbal and email consent is sufficient in order to approve re-registrations, add or change classes for future registration and/or tuition changes, including consent to these policies and procedures.
Ongoing private music lesson tuition
Private music lessons are ongoing. Tuition functions as described above, and is automatically reset yearly for your convenience. Monthly fees are recalculated and posted on May 1st, and go into effect at the beginning of each academic year. Monthly tuition is based on the number of lessons a student is scheduled to receive. Students are not charged for scheduled breaks found in our academy calendar. While the number of lessons each month will vary depending on breaks etc, your monthly tuition will not vary as it is divided into equal monthly installments for your convenience. Our academic year runs July-June, or Sept-June for those who choose to take Summer off. Students must inform the Academy in writing, by May 25, if they are choosing to take Summer off. June tuition will reflect the next years rates, include the yearly administration fee, and act as the deposit month for the next calendar year.
Termination of Lessons and Refund Policy
1st month’s tuition, $35 administration fee, and deposit month’s tuition are non-refundable. No refunds will be given for missed lessons.
Students may withdraw at any time with 1 month notice prior to withdrawing.
In order to withdraw from lessons a parent, guardian, or adult student in person must complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the studio at least 5 days prior to the first of the next month. You must sign and submit a withdrawal form in order to be dropped from class and avoid automatic tuition withdrawal on the first of the next month. No refunds on tuition will be given because of late withdrawal notice. After submitting a withdrawal form, the deposit tuition will be applied to the following month.
No withdrawals will be accepted after May 1st, except for private music students who are registered for ongoing lessons.
